I missed the March A to Z Blogging Challenge Theme Reveal Linkup, but I decided to write a theme reveal post anyway.
After careful consideration, I decided to tackle this writing challenge by focusing on one of my key concerns at the moment – motherhood.
Motherhood is a ‘place’ I took ‘forever’ to enter. I just couldn’t get my head around it and I couldn’t see myself as a mother.
In fact, I rarely thought about motherhood before entering into it, and I’m still not sure what to make of it.
I remember having thoughts about my children when I was at university, but they were always old enough to think, read, and talk. They were very intelligent and always well-behaved. They were my thinking buddies and we got on very well, all the time.
Motherhood is now a reality for me; a new country that I’m exploring and discovering.
I have found it to be captivating, very consuming, highly enriching, definitely sacrificial, really exciting, sometimes frustrating, usually incomprehensible, and just … simply … ‘je ne sais quoi’, I suppose.
So you see, motherhood is a fitting theme for me.
I will be CONSIDERING my MOTHERHOOD journey from A to Z in April 2015.
I will reflect on the different ways it has hit me …
… the diverse ways it has caught me unawares …
… the different issues it has raised for me …
… the varied ways I’m experiencing it …
… the changing things it has meant for me.
I hope that I’ll be the wiser about what motherhood means to me after this month of pondering. 🙂
I hope that perhaps, you’ll journey with me; sharing your views about my thoughts and consequently helping to sharpen my thinking.
So, what do you think about motherhood?
