I’ve recently felt down and disoriented about my blog and I even wondered whether blogging might be over for me before it even really started. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when the following subject line in my inbox caught my attention a few days ago. Thoughts like, ‘my blog profile has been featured on Britmums?, this is so exciting!, I can’t believe it’ ran through my mind.
With high anticipation and trembling hands, I eagerly clicked on the subject to read the email. I was filled with such delight in that moment; I felt like a super star!
I clicked on the Britmums link, sat back in my chair with a big smile on my face, and looked in amazement at my blog icon on the Britmums featured members page. ‘Wow, I’ve made it’, I think I thought. 🙂
I wasn’t sure what it meant to be a featured member of Brimums, the “UK’s largest collective of lifestyle bloggers and digital influencers” but I sure knew it was a real boost to my blogging confidence.
I spent some time looking at the page and checking out my profile; I then excitedly tweeted about it. I was even more chuffed when Britmums retweeted my tweet and replied me.
Positive recognition is quite something, isn’t it? It definitely feels good to be noticed for something you’re putting so much effort into. As a teacher, I know how important it is to praise my students for their efforts and achievements; the encouragement that this gives really does make a difference.
So dear Britmums, thank you so much for noticing my blog and featuring my blog profile on your network. I know this isn’t an award but it felt like one to me. I really appreciate your awareness of my blog and I’m so pleased I joined your bloggers network. I look forward to finding my way around your network and blogging better. Your recognition is a significant encouragement on my blogging journey.
Can you remember an instance when your effort was noticed?
