Top 5: MAM Feeding Bowl Review

The MAM Feeding Bowl was one of the items MAM Baby UK sent to me to check out, early this year. I have put it through its paces over the months and here are the top 5 things I really like about it.

1. Separate compartments

I really like the fact that I can put and store up to two different food items in the bowl, to offer to my toddler at home, and when we are out and about. This 2 in 1 feature has reduced the amount of containers I pack when going out of the house with my toddler; fab, isn’t it. πŸ™‚

I mainly use it to store grapes and blueberries; but I’ve also used it for items like my avocado dip. I tend to portion the food into the bowl, and then put it in the fridge until I need it; for a few hours to a day.

2. Tight fitting lid

I like the fact that the MAM feeding bowl makes click sounds as I press the lid around it. This confirms that it has been closed properly; I don’t have to worry about it opening accidentally in the bag that I keep it, when we are out and about.

This also means that I don’t mind my toddler holding the closed bowl (under supervision), because I know he can’t open it on his own.

3. Good-sized handle

The handle is long and wide enough for my toddler and I to easily hold it. I’ve got bowls that are not this generous, which means you have to hold on tightly to the little bit of handle they have; not the best with a toddler.

4. Easy to Wash

I don’t like containers with little corners that are difficult to reach when washing. Well, this bowl isn’t like that; its shape makes every part of if fully accessible for good cleaning.

5. Cute but practical design

The MAM Feeding bowl is not too small or too big, too shallow or too deep; it’s just the right size and it doesn’t take too much space. This is important when you have to take a lot of things with you when leaving the house.

The bowl is also durable, when you see and feel it, you know it’s not another flimsy children’s bowl. The bowl is sturdy and its lid has the right amount of flexibility and rigidity. Indeed, I see myself using this bowl for a very long time to come.

I also like the colour scheme of the bowls; different shades of the same colour – another opportunity to teach my little one about colour shades πŸ™‚

The MAM Feeding Bowl is one of the products in MAM’s Feeding line, and you can buy it for Β£5.99 on the MAM online shop, (it’s currently on sale for Β£3.59).

I couldn’t figure out the meaning of all the usage symbols on the back of the packaging and the insider of the lid, but the instructions for use are clearly written in the inside of the packaging.

  2. I love that is has separate sides, is sturdy and has a good lid to prevent spills! Thanks for the great review!

  3. Fantastic review, These are fantastic we have had one but we lost it on holiday or my husband did. Great for on the go and starting finger foods x

  4. Having a lid is such a simple thing but so useful – especially if you want to take the bowl out with you or have a child who doesn’t finish every meal x

  5. Really love the look of this. We are just about to emark on weaning (how on Earth did that happen so fast!?) and have been looking around for bowls etc. These look brilliant with the compartments and seem easy to hold for little hands.

  6. This looks brilliant, my son has decided lately he doesn’t like his food together. Not that he eats much now, he will have cheese in the one side and cucumber in the other! ahha

  7. I love that it has two sides. Means my two girls can have a side each. Or different things that don’t get all mushed together.
I know it’s easy to wash, but is it dishwasher safe?

  8. This would be great for my little girl as she prefers her food seperated and the lid is an added bonus

  9. I love this as my daughter hates me feeding her so she could have main and desert in the separate sides!

  10. I love the fact the two compartments are secure from each other. So many feeding bowls have this but then don’t have a secure lid so it’s pointless having separate sections.

The green one would be fab

  11. I love MAM products. I have always found they are excellent quality, stylish designs and perfect for my needs! This little bowl is perfect for my little toddler!

  12. excellent review thank you – this is great for travelling and so innovative .No little ridges to collect bacteria and easily washable!

  13. I love the flexibility and ease of opening but most of all I love the compartments. Who invented bowls for little people with compartments? Brilliant!

  14. I like bowls that are dishwasher and microwave safe. Nothing more annoying than putting your bowl and lid in the dishwasher, then when you empty the dishwasher the bowl & / or lid have got misshapen and the lid no longer fits. This happened to us with a drinking cup with lid, now it is useless.

    • What a shame … you want products that are fit for purpose, don’t you. I bet the brand would want to know. The MAM Feeding Bowl can go in the top rack of the dishwasher to 65oC. All the cleaning details are clearly written in the inside of the packaging. πŸ™‚
